All of Derbyshire Dales District Council’s leisure centres in Ashbourne, Bakewell, Matlock and Wirksworth were open on Wednesday morning, despite the snow - but there could be some disruptions to waste and recycling collections.
Arc Leisure Matlock’s scheduled Easter holiday Sportmania session and an aerobics event were cancelled as instructors couldn’t get in from their homes. The car parks at Arc were in use on Wednesday morning, but care is urged.
Ashbourne Leisure Centre reported no problems, Bakewell Swimming Pool opened slightly later than usual at 8am and Wirksworth Leisure Centre was also open, though care was needed in the car park there.
The District Council’s headquarters at Matlock Town Hall was open for business as usual, as was the District Council’s Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre.
At 8.30am the District Council’s waste collection and recycling trucks were still at the depot and on standby because of the condition of some Dales roads. An update on the bin collections will follow here later.
