Couple toasts to 60 years of marriage
A sparkling couple toasted to their diamond wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Derek and Joan Parkey, of Northwood Lane, Darley Dale, celebrated their 60th anniversary on Thursday, having got married on April 3 1950 in St Cyprian’s Church, Salford.
Derek, 82, and Joan, 78, have a daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Parkey. They celebrated the milestone with a party at the Fishpond, in Matlock Bath, on Saturday.
Derek said the secret of a long and happy marriage was all down to ‘give and take’.
