This caused major tailbacks along the road, before another accident took place.

Three cars, a Toyota Yaris, a Ford Focus and a Seat Attea, were involved in a collision at around 9am.

A police spokesman said part of the road has been blocked off because of the accident.

He said: “People should avoid the area if possible.”

Paramedics were called to the scene but the condition of any potential casualties is currently unknown.
