These cheeky chappies are pictured next to a well dressing in Wirksworth.
The picture was taken in 1959 as part of the annual Wirksworth Welldressings festival.
Welldressings are as popular today as they were then, with many Derbyshire villages celebrating the water from the wells by creating intricate artwork made out items such as seeds, flower petals and more recently recycled materials.
The welldressing in this picture was made by the youngsters of the town and features a picture of a shepherd with his flock and the words ‘feed the sheep’.
The message is most likely referring to God being a shepherd of his people.
