Crews attend large wood fire in Oakerthorpe

At 8.21pm on Saturday, crews attended the incident on Millstone Lane, in Oakerthorpe.

Upon arrival they found a ‘large quantity’ of wood well alight in the open.

Crews from Ripley, Crich and Clay Cross, as well as additional Alfreton crews, attended to provide more water.

A water carrier was also drafted in from Ilkeston.

At 11.05pm, the contained fire was left under the supervision of a responsible person.

All crews left the scene at 11.38pm.
