Crime busting coffee morning in Bakewell

After elderly Bakewell residents voiced concerns about anti-social behaviour and criminal activity in the town, police have organised a crime-busting coffee morning.

Washed down with a steamy beverage, residents at Hoyle Court, in Bakewell, will receive crime prevention advice and information packs from local PCSO, Hayley Grundy today (Wednesday).

Simple steps around personal security can be taken, such as ensuring handbags and belongings are kept an eye on when out and about, buying a purse chain, which clips your purse to a handbag and ensuring that windows and doors are locked when leaving your property.

PCSO Hayley Grundy, said: “Bakewell is a safe place to live but we want to make sure people are aware of what they can do to further protect themselves against crime.

“Simple steps, which can be reassuring, will help to make all the difference in feeling safe and secure within our communities and avoid becoming a victim.”
