16-month road ban for drink driver
Police on duty in the early hours of March 2 saw a Fiat Punto driving up Fairfield Road, Buxton, at speed, prosecutor Jennifer Fitzgerald said.
They followed the vehicle and noticed that when it indicated to turn right onto Queen’s Road all the lights went out, High Peak Magistrates’ Court heard.

He failed a roadside breath test so was arrested and taken to the police station where he provided a reading of 58. The legal limit is 35.
Kenny, 24, of Lathkil Grove, admitted drink-driving.
Kirsten Collings, defending, said: “He accepts he was driving and he accepts the reading.
“He had been out with friends on the Market Place and intended to stay over. He had stayed a number of hours but couldn’t sleep so made the foolish decision believing he was okay to drive home.”
He was banned for 16 months, fined £100 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
