Chesterfield man spared prison after he twice used woman's bank card to make purchases for himself

Darren Michael Richardson, aged 38, of Oakmoor Close, Chesterfield, admitted the offences when he appeared before Derby Magistrates’ Court on June 12, court records show.
He used the card twice on June 21, 2019 – once at the Co-op store in Newbold Village and once at McColl’s on Chatsworth Road, spending a total of £58.75.

Hide AdRichardson had initially denied the charges of committing fraud by false representation against the female victim but later changed his plea to guilty, records show.
He was jailed for a total of four weeks by magistrates when he appeared before the court, but the sentence was suspended for 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay £58.75 in compensation and a victim surcharge of £115. No prosecution costs were awarded.
