Officers from the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit spotted the McLaren as it passed them on the M1 near Tibshelf.
The supercar was being driven with no front number plate and an illegal rear number plate, while the tinted windows only allowed 23% light transmission when the legal minimum is 70%.
Police made the driver remove the tinting at the roadside and reported them for the offences.
