Drug driver arrested with positive cannabis test after trying to ‘sneak through’ Derbyshire town

A driver was arrested by police this week – failing a drugs test after an unsuccessful effort to ‘sneak’ throgh a Detbyshire town.

On Monday, May 15, the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit were on patrol in Ripley.

In a tweet, DRPU spokesperson said that an Audi had tried “sneaking through the town, but set off our automatic number plate recognition around a potential drug driver.

“Once again it’s bang on the money, with the driver testing positive for cannabis via drug wipe.”

The driver was taken into custody and a blood sample was obtained – and they were bailed pending the result.
