Jewellery among items stolen during break-in at home in Cromford

Burglars stole two rings and a quantity of cash after breaking into a property in Cromford through a front window.

The house, in Barnwell Lane, was targeted between 9am on Monday, March 3 and 10.30am the following morning.

The offenders smashed a window to get inside and searched the property, taking cash and jewellery.

A 9ct gold ring with an opal stone and sapphire surround was stolen, along with an 18ct white gold engagement ring with a sapphire stone surrounded by diamond chips.

Police are appealing for anyone who might have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area to call them on 101.
