Man in his 20s died after suffering 'serious injuries' in Peak District

A man who was in his 20s died in the Peak District earlier this week, after suffering from ‘serious injuries’.

Derbyshire Constabulary confirmed they were called to land off New Road in Bamford just before 1pm on Wednesday, March 24 to assist East Midlands Ambulance Service following reports that a man had serious injuries.

Despite attempts from paramedics to treat the victim who was aged in his 20s, he passed away at the scene.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this distressing time.”

Edale Mountain Rescue Team were contacted by officers at 4pm to help recover the body and transport the man back to the road.

In a post on Facebook, Edale Mountain Rescue Team commented: “The team would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family on this very sad day.”
