Police bid to trace vehicle after carjacking near Chesterfield

Police investigating a carjacking near Chesterfield are appealing for the public’s help to trace a white car believed to be linked to the violent crime.

The incident – which happened at 6.20pm on May 13 – saw a 34-year-old man driving a black VW Golf robbed by three men in Park Road, Holmewood.

They forced the victim from the car and drove off along Heath Road in the direction of junction 29 of the M1.

The car crashed 100 metres after the petrol station in Heath Road and the offenders, who were all wearing high-viz tops, ran off on foot taking with them a large quantity of money.

The white car – which was parked in a small cut off from the A6175 near the M1 in Holmewood at 6.06pm – is believed to be linked to the offence.
