Defending, Palbir Singh said Sakaj, of Hob Moor Road, Birmingham, had borrowed the car after an emergency call from a relative. “He knew the cannabis was in the car but said it did not belong to him,” he added.

Sakaj admitted possession of cannabis, and driving without a licence and insurance. He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge and given a six-month driving ban.
