Police issue warning over rogue traders damaging roofs in Chesterfield area

Wingerworth and Rural Police Safer Neighbourhood Team posted the warning after being alerted to cold callers who are damaging roofs on homes after asking residents if they need their gutters clearing.

Officers from the SNT said on Facebook: “We have been notified that cold callers are operating in the Wingerworth area asking if gutters need cleaning, then disturbing roof tiles without the home owner knowing and touting for unnessary work.”

The post added: “I would suggest that people like this be sent on their way and the incident reported to us. Thanks to the Wingerworth resident who alerted us to this incident.”
