Police probe incident on Chesterfield Canal as boy suffers head injury

The incident occurred on an area of the canal in New Whittington, known as Pebble Beach, between 3pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday, July 20.
The victim, a young boy in his early teens, was hit with a stone to the back of his head knocking him unconscious.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “Another boy, also in his early teens, has been voluntarily interviewed in relation to the incident.
“The victim told officers that when he came to a man was stood over him asking him if he was OK – he is described as black and was walking a dog.
“Officers want to speak to this man as a witness to the incident.”
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area.
