Police search for convict who fled Derbyshire prison finally over as officers locate offender

Officers located Miles Moorhouse, who was wanted for absconding from Sudbury prison last month, in Essex on Wednesday, July 14.
The 32-year-old man who has an Irish accent and links to Essex, Bedford, London and Dublin, was originally jailed at Isleworth Crown Court in 2018 for aggravated vehicle taking, three burglary dwellings and criminal damage.

Hide AdDerbyshire police have thanked the public for sharing the appeal they issued over four weeks ago, urging residents to help them find Moorhouse after he fled prison on June 9.
In a post on Twitter, the force wrote: “Miles Moorhouse, who was wanted for absconding from Sudbury prison in June, is no longer being sought by officers and was found in the Essex area on Wednesday 14 July.
“Thank you to all who shared our appeal.”
