PCSO Rogers and PC Tyler gave chase after a prolific shoplifter set of a security alarm at Boots today (January 16).

After the alarm rang, the officers say they saw someone who they doubted was a boots shopper ‘due to his appearance’ exit the shop.

Rogers and Tyler gave chase on foot, and ran the male, who is from Nottinghamshire down close to the bus station.

Items from Peacocks were also recovered from the male, who is ‘well-known’ to the officers on Alfreton’s safer neighbourhood team.

A spokesperson said: “Total value [of stolen goods] was approx £200, so not a bad day in the office for us, and a shocking day for him.

“Hopefully he will be re-educated not to come to town as we have the best SNT and he never gets away.”
