A man who struggles with social situations was attacked by two young men outside a fish and chip shop.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday, July 1, how Wayne Allen, 24, and Steven Allen, 21, both of Green Street, Old Whittington, Chesterfield, admitted assaulting the 20-year-old outside the Sealion fish shop at Old Whittington.
Prosecuting solicitor Angela Hadfield said the victim, who finds social situations difficult, claimed he was tripped and as he punched out Wayne Allen grabbed him and Steve Allen kicked him.
Both defendants pleaded guilty to assault after the incident on May 3 but argued the complainant had not been tripped.
Wayne Allen also pleaded guilty to damaging a window belonging to Chesterfield Borough Council after he threw a stone following the incident. Magistrates adjourned the case for sentencing on July 4.
