Among the main attractions this year is ‘Cromford Pulls’, during which women will haul a steam traction engine up Cromford Hill and men will tow a 21–tonne canal boat one mile along the Cromford Canal.

The Cromford Kanter and Killer fell races will also be held, as well as open gardens, a fun fair, market stalls, circus workshops and the revival of an old Derbyshire tradition, Best Dressed Bikes, which is described as being like well dressings using natural or recycled materials to decorate bikes.

The Cromford Pudding bake–off, where contestants try to replicate Mrs Arkwright’s famous but fragmentary recipe from 1774, will also be held.
