Curbar: Turning the lens on crime with CCTV cameras

Police are turning the lens on crime by installing a number of CCTV cameras in the village of Curbar.

The devices have been placed by the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team to help police keep the area safe.

They will be used to investigate any crimes committed in the area and to provide reassurance to residents that the village is covered by CCTV.

Warning signs alerting people that cameras cover the area have also been placed throughout the village.

PCSO Anthony Boswell, from the Safer Neighbourhood team, said: “These cameras will be extremely useful in helping us to keep the village and its residents safe.

“They will act as a great deterrent to criminals and, if a crime is committed, may help us track down the offenders.

“The cameras will be a great asset to the community and the Safer Neighbourhood team.”

The cameras have been funded by the Derbyshire Dales District Council, Derbyshire police and Curbar Parish Council.
