Dales beer wins award

ONE Dales brewery is toasting success after its signature beer was voted the best speciality in the Midlands and East Anglia.

Thornbridge Brewery, of Bakewell, entered Jaipur IPA into the Great Taste Awards earlier this year and it quickly progressed to win the coveted Golden Fork Award on September 3.

Alex Buchanan from Thornbridge Brewery said: “We started brewing Jaipur back in 2005 and it’s definitely been a breakthrough beer for us.

“Jaipur has won well in excess of 100 awards in that time, but as the Golden Fork Award recognises food and drink, it’s a great achievement for us to win.”

Bob Farrand, chairman for the Guild of Fine Food, said: “The award places this incredibly complex ale alongside exquisite fine foods and it rightly deserves its place there.”
