It was real ale and traditional tucker galore in Stanton-in-Peak recently as the Flying Childers pub held its third ‘meet the brewer’ night.
This time, passionate beer-makers from Abbeydale Brewery, Sheffield, dropped in to give a presentation to a packed pub.
The event, which was held on Thursday, May 16, began with a delicious home-cooked meal, courtesy of landlady Mandy Redfern.
This was followed by a talk on the process Abbeydale Brewery use to make their ales and attendees got the opportunity to examine the raw ingredients close up.
After a riveting talk, it was on with the sampling – the part everybody was looking forward to.
There was a selection of ales for people to try, all at a heavily reduced rate, and the brewers stayed around to answer further questions.
Attendees also got to try the two Ales in the running to be the Tramlines Music Festival Ale. Tramlines is a Sheffield music festival being held this summer.
