Dales residents invited to charity dog show

A DALES animal charity is inviting people for an jubilee–themed dog show.

Ashbourne Animal Welfare, which runs The Ark Rescue Centre for Cats and Dogs, in Wyaston Road, Ashbourne, is celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee by holding an Ark Royal Open Day and Jubilee Dog Show on Sunday, June 3.

The rescue centre will be open from 11am until 4pm and the dog show will start at 12.30pm with classes for Most Handsome Prince, Pretty as a Princess, Right Royal Tail Wagger/Happy Dog, Best Jubilee Puppy, Best Regal Expression and Judge’s Jubilee Favourite.

There will also be face painting and a variety of stalls including plants, cakes and crafts.

Admission to the open day is free but the dog show costs £1 per dog per class with all the funds going to help run the rescue centre.
