On Friday, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “The man was paragliding when he fell to the ground.

“A local community first responder was first on scene and found the man in traumatic cardiac arrest being given excellent CPR by members of the public.

“The community first responder continued resuscitation attempts and was quickly joined by ambulance colleagues.

“The ambulance staff and doctor worked as a team to continue resuscitation and administered advanced emergency interventions on scene.

“Sadly, despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead a short time later.”
