Derby professor to be part of education inquiry

A PROFESSOR has been chosen to be part of a team to improve standards of education.

Professor Dennis Hayes, head of the centre for educational research at the University of Derby, was selected by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, to be a member of an Education Inquiry, set up to explore the critical challenges facing London’s primary and secondary schools.

It is hoped the outcome of the inquiry will drive up standards, the availability of good school places and future investment.
