The event at Derby Cathedral took place on September 20 and saw the cadets parade from the cathedral to the war memorial in Derby Marketplace where the Vice Lord-Lieutenant took the salute.

Colonel Chris Young, Commandant of Derbyshire ACF, said: “Today we are celebrating the ACF in Derbyshire and it is a proud moment to see so many Cadets out in force to represent their county. Cadet Sunday is an annual event where we come together as to reflect on our achievements and look forward to the coming year.”

Cadet Sergeant Sam Johnson, aged 18, from Bakewell detachment, said: “Cadet Sunday is something I have taken part in now for four years. The parade through Derby is always impressive with the sheer number of cadets taking part and I enjoy seeing members of the public come out to watch as it makes the ACF feel like part of the community.”

Cadet Corporal Lauren Rigley, aged 17, from Clay Cross detachment, said: “I have been a cadet for just over four years and think there is always a sense of respect on Cadet Sunday as everyone wants to present the ACF to the community and show people what we are all about.”
