Derbyshire Dales bin collection catch–up

After a delayed start due to overnight snow, bin lorries left the depot this morning to tackle today’s scheduled rounds and some areas missed yesterday because of the snow.

Snow disruption in many parts of the Derbyshire Dales meant the crews focussed on more accessible areas - such as main roads - and will be working again tomorrow (Saturday) to continue the catch-up. However, a backlog is inevitable, and some Thursday and Friday collections could now run into next week.

Derbyshire Dales District Council is asking people to leave their bins and bags out and not to report a missed collection until the authority is in a better position to let residents know about progress on the catch-up.

Unless the weather and road conditions deteriorate significantly later, this Saturday’s Bakewell Farmers’ Market is definitely on from 9am to 2pm.
