Derbyshire Dales: Bin collection update

Serco anticipate there will be continuing disruptions to waste and recycling collections caused by snow and ice.

Weather conditions caused the postponement of scheduled collections last Friday (22 March) and yesterday (25 March).

The catch-up plan will hopefully see waste and recycling collections continue with scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday rounds this week.

Weather permitting, Serco will then catch up with last Friday’s missed collections with a ‘double’ collection this Good Friday (household waste and garden/food together). The catch up on any recycling collections missed last Friday began this morning (in Darley Dale) and is set to continue during this week, so the message to residents is please leave out recycling containers.

The catch up with yesterday’s (Monday) missed collections is planned to happen this Easter Saturday (30 March).

Unfortunately further weather disruptions are possible this week.

The District Council is posting regular updates on its website and through its Facebook and Twitter channels.

Next week, because of the Easter Bank Holiday Monday, all waste and recycling collections will be one day late, and crews will work on Saturday 6 April to complete the week’s work.
