Derbyshire Dales bin collections missed due to snow

Although Derbyshire Dales District Council’s waste & recycling collection crews have been out every day this week, poor road conditions in some areas have hampered progress.

So the big message to residents continues to be leave out / put out your waste & recycling for collection - and we’ll get to you as soon as we can.

Our contractor Serco is keeping to this week’s scheduled collection timetable, which can be found on the homepage of our website at www.derbyshiredales.gov.uk, and extra crews are attempting to catch up on areas missed over recent days.

On Tuesday, for example, Serco’s crews were out in Bakewell, but snow and ice made many side roads inaccessible for our collection trucks. Residents are advised that they don’t need to report a missed collection, as all properties requiring a return visit have been logged.

The good news is that a thaw is forecast for New Year’s Day, and our crews will be out on Friday and Saturday working hard on the catch up.
