Derbyshire firefighters rescue badger

Derbyshire firefighters helped a badger which got into a spot of bother.

The animal needed rescuing when it became trapped on Holly Lane in Ambergate.

Firefighters from Alfreton and Ascot Drive were called to the incident at around 2pm on Wednesday.

Crews – supported by a rope rescue unit – successfully brought the animal to safety.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The badger was left it in the care of Derbyshire Badger Trust.”
