Derbyshire firefighters stopped from getting to job by parked cars

The fire crew were called to reports of a house fire in Morton but were unable to get to the correct address due to the parked cars.

Fortunately, the call out was a false alarm but the fire service now want people to be aware how dangerous a situation this could have been.

A spokesperson for the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We would like to asks residents to be aware of the impact of their parking on accessibility.

“When parking people should consider if an emergency vehicle could still get access to the area and if it couldn’t, not to park there.”
