DERBYSHIRE: Intense rain set to lash county
Forecasters are warning of intense rain in Derbyshire today.
The Met Office ‘yellow’ be aware alert is valid between 11am and 5pm.
A spokesman said: “Some intense showers and thunderstorms with hail are likely to develop later this morning and during the afternoon.

Hide Ad“There is a risk of 10-20mm of rain falling within an hour and up to 30mm in less than three hours.
“The public should be aware of the risk of localised surface water flooding.
“They are advised to take extra care.”
The warning comes just a week after the county was basking in temperatures in their mid-20s.
