Derbyshire mountain rescuers saved man who had fallen and suffered head injury

A mountain rescue team saved a man who had suffered a head injury after falling down a steep slope yesterday.

Derby Mountain Rescue Team were called just after 1pm to Dovedale to help the injured 67-year-old.

He was given treatment and handed over to East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Soon after, the same team were then called to Matlock after a man in his 20s had fallen and broken his leg.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service and Edale Mountain Rescue Team attended to help.

The man was stabilised and carried to the road and taken to hospital by EMAS.

And then the mountain rescuers headed back to Dovedale to help a young man who had suffered a broken leg and an elderly woman who had collapsed.

Both were treated by EMAS.
