Hide AdDerbyshire Constabulary has so far released little information to the press and the public.
Residents told the Derbyshire Times they had heard ‘many rumours’ and wanted an update and facts from police.
In a brief statement on Friday afternoon, a force spokesman said: “Police were called to a house in Campbell Drive, Barrow Hill, at about 2.15pm on Friday after reports that a man had been taken ill and subsequently died.
“An investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death has now been launched.
“Anyone with information should call police on 101.”
The spokesman described the case as a ‘sudden death’.
