DERBYSHIRE: Take to Twitter for exam advice

Parents can take part in a live chat on Twitter if they have questions about supporting their child with revision for GCSEs or equivalent.

Experts from Derbyshire County Council’s education and schools teams will be taking to Twitter to help support parents, offering advice on common exam problems and signposting them to essential information.

The live Twitter sessions will be held today and next Tuesday between 5pm and 7.30pm.

The panel of experts will include teachers, each with over 15 years of exam experience, and staff who are up to date on the curriculum and the next steps to take after exams.

The council’s strategic director for children and young people, Ian Thomas, said: “This can be a really stressful time for young people and their parents − but it’s never too late to get some useful last minute tips.

“So we’re making our experts available to offer immediate advice and support − which can make a huge difference to your child’s results.

“We want all our youngsters to get the best possible results and this new lifeline for students and parents can help them do that.”
