Derbyshire teacher runs up over £500 for school
Prudence Gooch competed in The Great North Run, which was won by Mo Farah for the men and Mary Keitany for the women
The nursery teacher and lower school leader at Castle View Primary School achieved her dream when she ran the 13.1-mile course across Newcastle in 2hours and 26minutes earlier this month.

Hide AdThe keen runner said: “I have always wanted take part in the Great North Run.”
An active fundraiser for the school, she added: “I am raising money to improve the development and lifestyles of children at Castle View and nuture their aspirations by enabling access to a variety of sporting, cultural and social experiences.”
Prudence has already raise d more than £500 for Castle View school and donations can still be accepted until December 7, 2014.

This year’s Great North Run attracted 56,000 runners.
The event has been held for 33 years and highlights include Paula Radcliffe eclipsing world record marathon holder Grete Waitz’s 12-year-old record of 68:49 with a new European record 67:07 in 2000.
