District council needs your help to make spending cuts

Dales residents are being given their chance to have a say on the council’s most difficult spending cuts in decades.

Area community forums will be held by Derbyshire Dales District Council in Matlock and Bakewell next month to discuss spending plans for 2014/15.

Council leader Lewis Rose said: “These forums are therefore a timely opportunity for local people to get a first hand view on the action that needs to be taken and, of course, to air their views.”

The forums take place at Matlock Town Hall February 10 and Bakewell Agricultural Business Centre February 17.

Both start at 7pm and those who can’t attend can email questions in advance to [email protected] or via the council’s Facebook and Twitter pages. The February 10 forum will feature a live Twitter feed at www.twitter.com/derbyshiredales. The forums provide an opportunity for residents to meet representatives of the council and other organisations.
