Television show winning chorus DaleDiva is celebrating another winning streak this month.

The Cromford-based choir – which claimed victory in Channel Five show ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ – took overall fifth place medal in an international competition at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, competing against 25 other choruses from around the UK and the Netherlands.

And last weekend the Divas won the Barbershop Class at Derby Arts Festival.

Founder and musical director Ally Law, 41, of Cromford, said: “We’ve had a really busy time since we won ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ enjoying lots of performances – but competing is still something that’s very important to us.

“We’ve been working very hard for months towards the international competition and this is our best result so far.

“It’s particularly pleasing to rank well against some of the best choruses in the country, but it was also great to get recognition closer to home competing against Derbyshire groups in the Derby Arts Festival last weekend.”

The chorus now has 72 members of all ages from all over Derbyshire.
