At 2am on Wednesday, February 24, a car collided with a man on the eastbound carriageway of the A50 between the Toyota junction and Chellaston.

Officers believe he crossed the westbound carriageway and climbed over the central reservation in an attempt to cross the eastbound side of the road but was in collision with a Honda in the outside lane.

The man carried no identification of any kind and has no tattoos or scars. He is believed to be aged between 25 and 30 and possibly of Middle Eastern or Eastern European descent. He is thin with a shaved head and slight stubble.

He was wearing black jeans, brown Timberland boots, a black padded jacket, a grey woollen scarf and a grey woollen hat.

A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "Extensive enquiries have been made across the country in an attempt to identify the man but all have drawn a blank.

"An e-fit image, compiled by a specially-trained member of police staff, has been issued in the hope that someone will recognise him.

"Anyone who recognises the description of the man or his image should contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 31/24/02/16."
