Dog walker bitten by cyclist on Peak District trail

A dog walker was bitten by a cyclist following an argument on the Monsal Trail.

A 41-year-old woman was walking her two dogs along the trail, near the cycle hire centre at Wye Dale, at around 11am on Friday, August 19.

A man cycled towards her at speed and she called out to him to slow down.

He stopped and began arguing with the woman.

During the argument, he bit her finger, drawing blood.

He then cycled off in the direction of Miller’s Dale station.

The cyclist is described as white, in his mid 60s and of medium build. He wore a cycling helmet.
