DRAMATIC PICTURE: Cars set on fire in Matlock

Police are appealing for information after three cars were set on fire in Matlock.

Between 10pm and 11pm on Monday, February 23, a Peugeot 207, an Audi A3 and a Toyota were set on fire on John Street.

Angela Furniss, the owner of the Peugeot and Audi, said: “This has left us all upset, shocked and afraid.

“My car was next to my house and it could have endangered lives.

“We don’t know why anyone would do this and would urge everyone in Matlock to think back to that night and if they saw anyone acting suspiciously or have CCTV to please let the police know.”

Police are appealing to the public to contact them if they saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at about 10pm.
