Driver airlifted to hostpial after Peak District crash

A driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a crash in the Peak District.

The 38–year–old man, of Clowne, was driving a Ford Mondeo on the Taddington bypass at 10.50am yesterday when he went off the road, crashing into a dry stone wall.

The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene.

He was flown to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where he is said to be in a stable condition with multiple injuries.

The road reopened at 2.50pm.
