Driver injured in crash

A MOTORIST remains in hospital in a serious condition after a road accident in Derbyshire.

The man, from Cromford, and his passenger were both taken to hospital when the red Ford Fiesta they were in hit a dry stone wall.

Emergency services were called to the A632 Matlock Road, Kelstedge, at 11.20pm on Thursday, June 2.

They freed the two men from the wreckage and paramedics treated them before transferring them to the North Derbyshire Royal Hospital, Chesterfield.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident and are appealing for witnesses.

No other vehicles were thought to be involved.
