A man has been jailed for more than four years for possessing drugs with the intent to supply.
Andrew Johnson was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Friday, May 13. He was given four-and-a-half years for possessing heroin with the intent to supply and the same term for possessing crack cocaine with intent, to be served concurrently.
Johnson, of Masson Hill View, Matlock, was also sentenced to two months for two counts of possessing cannabis resin, also to be served concurrently.
The 30-year-old had pleaded guilty to the charges.
He was stopped and searched by officers in Dale Road, Matlock, last December, as they suspected he was carrying drugs.
Derbyshire Dales Inspector Bryan Hall said: “Dealing and taking drugs has a negative impact on the community and we will do everything in our power to stop offenders.
“I hope this sentence sends out a strong message that drugs will not be tolerated in the Dales.”
Anyone with information about drugs in their neighbourhood should call police on 0345 123 3333 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
