Edale Mountain Rescue Team helps fallen climber at Derwent Edge

The man was out climbing on his own and fell, suffering significant injuries, but he was able to raise the alarm for help.

A team spokesman said: “Due to the time, location and severity of the injuries an early decision was made to ask for helicopter assistance.”

Team members located and treated the climber before he was winched on board the Coastguard Helicopter and taken to hospital.
