HEALTH-CONSCIOUS kids have been introduced to a great way to keep in shape after a top martial arts club put on a knockout exhibition at their school.
Jesters Mixed Martial Arts Club, of Hadfield House, on Dale Road, Matlock, visited Cromford Primary School on Wednesday, March 20, to help promote the sport and the importance of keeping fit.
A club spokesman said: “Our instructors are offering free sessions to local schools where they will take equipment for the children to take part in taster sessions in kickboxing and boxing in the hope of encouraging them to come along to the club and give it a try.”
Jesters was formed in 2009 and offers a range of martial arts to suit all needs and abilities from the age of 4 to adult whether it is for fitness, competition or fun.
The club offers classes in kickboxing including its own grading syllabus, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Little Ninjas and also boxing. There is also a dedicated Ladies Only class.
Budding competitors can also follow in the footsteps of one adult Jesters’ members who has recently attained the BLCC Midland Champion 65kg weight title or two former students who have graded all the way to black belt and gone on to become instructors at the club.
Schools or anyone else interested in booking free sessions or joining can call head coach Mark Ball on 07825 876177.
