Eight arrested in Glossop drugs raids

Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following police raids in Glossop.

At around 12.45pm on April 11, police attended a property on Alder Close, in Hadfield, following reports from the public of suspected drug activity.

As officers attended the address, two men in a silver Vauxhall made an attempt to drive off the road, before leaving the vehicle and making off on foot.

Officers retrieved a jacket containing cash and a parcel of suspected class A drugs.

Two men, aged 24 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply. They have both been bailed pending further inquiries.

On April 23, a Skoda Octavia was stopped by police on Shrewsbury Street, in Glossop, at around 3pm and suspected cannabis was found inside twhe vehicle.

A 25-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, who were inside the vehicle, were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis.

Police then carried out a warrant at an address on Shrewsbury Street and discovered suspected ketamine and cannabis, as well as cash.

The woman was further arrested on suspicion of possessing ketamine and the man on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of cannabis.

Three men were also arrested on April 26 after being seen acting suspiciously outside a property on Matlock Bank.

Officers were carrying out patrols in the area at around 4.45pm when two men were allegedly seen to deposit a small bag of drugs.

When the bag was retrieved by police, one man fled the scene and a 28-year-old man was arrested.

Two men, aged 22 and a 31, handed themselves in to police later that day at Buxton Police Station, on Silverlands.
