Emergency services event

A CHANCE to find out more about the work of the emergency services will be offered at the 14th annual display day on Sunday.

The free event will be held at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton and provides the opportunity to meet the emergency services, both paid and volunteers and see them in action.

The High Peak Emergency Services Display Day starts at 10.30am with demonstrations running throughout the day.

There are displays from various organisations including the fire, police and ambulance dealing with a road traffic collision. Buxton Mountain Rescue Team carrying out rope evacuations from a scaffold tower, you can experience Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisations simulated cave.

Marvel at the Search and Rescue Dogs locating lost people and witness the National Park Rangers dealing with a simulated moorland fire.

There will also be a childrens quiz, and the Billerettes will close the show.
