Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Monday how Jacqueline Keating, 50, of No Fixed Abode, had twice assaulted her ex-partner and despite being given a restraining order she approached her.

Prosecuting solicitor Becky Allsop said Keating went up to her ex when they met in Chesterfield town centre on Sunday and told her she could talk to anyone.

Keating pleaded guilty to contacting her ex-partner while she was prohibited from doing so by a five-year restraining order.

Steve Brint, defending, said the couple lived together until Keating was evicted and she was forced out after a court hearing.

He added Keating had met her partner by chance outside Tesco and believed she was allowed to speak to her.

Magistrates fined Keating £110 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
